2003 Technical Conference / GENERAL INFORMATION

Technical Conference Registration Hours

The Registration Desk is located in the Convention Center Lobby Level – Laredo 1 & 2 (Central Registration Desk) Hours of Operations are as follows:

7:00 am – 3:00 pm

Wednesday, February 5
7:00 am – 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Thursday, February 6
7:00 am – 12:00 pm, 1:00pm - 5:00 pm

Friday, February 7
7:00 am – 12:00pm, 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Saturday, February 8
7:00 am – 12:00pm

Badges

Badges must be worn at all conference events. Please wear and display your badge prominently for easy access to conference activities. Name badges will be required for entrance to Section Meetings, Technical Conference Sessions, and Network Meetings. If you lose your badge, please go to the AHQA registration desk to obtain a replacement.

Hotel Information

The Coronado Springs Resort is the official headquarters for the AHQA 2003 Technical Conference, Changes, Challenges & Commitment: A New Era in Health Care Quality Improvement. The hotel is approximately 20/25 minutes to Orlando International Airport. For visitor information, please be sure to stop by the Convention Hospitality Services Desk located at the resort.

Hotel Check-in/Check-out times

Hotel check-in is 3:00 pm. Guests arriving before 3:00 pm will be accommodated on a first-come basis pending availability of rooms.

Checkout time is 11:00 am. Please see the hotel bell stand staff if you would like to store any luggage. Make sure you ask the bellman the following questions, who will be watching the luggage and how many people have access to the storage area. Please follow your instinct before leaving your luggage.

Business Center

Photocopying, computers, facsimiles, and other business services are available at the Coronado Springs Resort. Business center hours of operations are: Sunday – Saturday – 7:00am – 5:00pm.

Messages

If you are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort, your messages will go directly to your room. If a caller identifies you as an attendee with the AHQA Technical Conference, urgent messages or faxes will be posted on the message board located next to the AQHA Registration Desk.

Evaluations

Attention all conference attendees! Please take an active role in quality improvement by completing the conference evaluations as you participate in the sessions. Your feedback will help us evaluate the quality of the program and plan future events. Evaluation forms will be distributed in all sessions and available at the Registration Desk. Completed forms will be collected after each session or can be deposited in the designated basket located at the AHQA registration desk.

Continuing Medical Education Credits (CME) for Physicians

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the American Health Quality Association. The University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSM) is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The UCSM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 14.75 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

All faculty participating in CME activities sponsored by CFMC are expected to disclose to the audience at the activity any real or apparent conflict(s) related to the content of their presentation. CME forms may be picked up and returned to the AHQA Registration desk.

Audio Cassette Tapes

Teach’em has been designated as the official recording company for the 2003 Technical Conference. All educational sessions will be audio taped and available for sale in the registration area during hours of operation. For purchase after the conference, order forms will be available at the AHQA Registration Desk or at the Teach’em table. You may also call Teach’em at (312) 467-0424 at the conclusion of the conference to place your order.

Exhibit Hall

All meal functions will be in the Exhibit Hall unless otherwise noted. Be sure to stop by and visit all of the exhibitors and checkout the Poster Presentation while you are there.

Speaker Ready Room

Attention Speakers: The Speaker Ready room will be available to test audio-visual equipment in preparation for upcoming sessions. The room will be available during the following dates and times: Thursday, February 6, 2003 through Friday, February 7, 2003 from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Refreshments & Meals

Attendance at this years’ Technical Conference will exceed all previous meetings. We welcome your family and friends to Orlando, but regret that hotel space can only accommodate registered participants at the plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, and meal functions. However, your guests are welcome to join you at the Reception on Thursday, February 6, 2003.

Transportation

Mears Transportation is the official transportation for AHQA 2003 Technical Conference. You can contact Mears at 407-423-5566 for shuttle and Sedans transportation.

No Smoking Policy

The Coronado Springs Resort is a smoke-free hotel. Conference attendees and staff request that you honor the no-smoking policy at all AHQA sponsored events.
