Alliance for Health Reform is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that provides objective information on health reform in a number of formats to journalists, elected officials and their staffs, and other shapers of public opinion.

American Association of Retired Persons advocates on issues that are important to the 50+ population. Whether ensuring the long-term solvency of Social Security or protecting pensions, prescription-drug coverage in Medicare or patient protections in managed care, long-term care or living independently, AARP is a dynamic presence in the nation's capital, in state houses across the country, and in the courts.

American Society for Health Care Risk Management is the nation's leading professional society for healthcare risk management professionals and those responsible for the process of making and carrying out decisions that will promote quality care, maintain a safe environment, and preserve human and financial resources in healthcare organizations. With more than 4,000 members worldwide, ASHRM is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association.

Health Care Compliance Association is a new forum for healthcare professionals involved in compliance serving all segments of the health care industry.

Institute for Health Policy Solutions The Institute for Health Policy Solutions is a non-profit organization founded to develop creative and workable solutions to health system problems related to access, cost, and quality. Many of IHPS' projects involve the design of health insurance strategies that both achieve public interest objectives and are viable in the market. One area of particular interest and expertise is developing approaches that coordinate public and private sources for coverage of the uninsured.

Medicare Watch strives to assess and encourage reforms that will improve Medicare without undermining its character as a universal social insurance program.

National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems represents over 100 hospitals and health systems that together comprise the essential infrastructure of many of America's metropolitan health systems. These systems provide almost 90 percent of their services to Medicare, Medicaid and low income uninsured patients.

National Chronic Care Consortium is a strategic alliance of leading nonprofit health plans and providers in the US and Canada. Partnerships for Quality Education (PQE) was launched in 1996 with an $8.3 million grant from Pew Trusts.. The Alliance to Improve Medicare (AIM) is a coalition of organizations representing seniors, doctors, hospitals, patients, medical researchers and innovators, insurance plans and providers, small and large businesses and others who believe that Americans need and deserve a better Medicare program. AIM is the only organization focused solely on fundamental, non-partisan reform of the Medicare program to ensure more coverage choices, better benefits (including prescription drug benefits), and access to the latest in innovative medical practices and treatments though the Medicare system.

The American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA), the national professional association of pharmacists, is a leader in providing professional information and education for pharmacists and an advocate for improved health of the American public through the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care.

The American Association of Health Plans (AAHP) is the nation's principal association of health plans, representing more than 1,000 plans that provide coverage for approximately 150 million Americans nationwide. Member plans include health maintenance organizations (HMOs), preferred provider organizations (PPOs), other similar health plans and utilization review organizations (UROs).

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) is the national non-profit organization representing the state and territorial public health agencies of the United States, the U.S. Territories, and the District of Columbia. ASTHO's members, the chief health officials of these jurisdictions, are dedicated to formulating and influencing sound public health policy, and to assuring excellence in state-based public health practice.

The American Hospital Association represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks and their patients and communities.

The American Medical Directors Association is the national professional association committed to the continuous improvement of the quality of patient care by providing education, advocacy, information, and professional development for medical directors and other physicians who practice in the long term care continuum.

The Association of Academic Health Centers (AHC) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of the people by advancing the leadership of academic health centers in health professions education, biomedical and health services research, and health care delivery.

The Capital Area Rural Health Roundtable is an open forum for the exchange of ideas for important rural health topics.

The Center for Health Care Strategies promotes high quality health care services for low-income populations and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. The center awards grants and provides "real world" training and technical assistance to state purchasers of publicly financed health care, health plans, and consumer groups. Its projects aim to improve access to care, increase the use of effective preventive care services, prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and institutionalizations, promote clinical quality, and build organizational capacity to improve managed care services.

The Citizen Advocacy Center (CAC), Washington, D.C., provides training, research, conferences and networking for health care institutions' public members and consumer representatives. These institutions include professional licensing boards, managed care plan boards and advisory committees, Quality Improvement Organizations, and other health care oversight bodies.

The Federation of American Hospitals represents 1700 hospitals with more than 800,000 employees. The Federation provides representation and advocacy for our industry to Congress, the Executive Branch, the media, academia and the public, while also serving as a clearinghouse for our members and others on such vital health care issues as: Medicare, Medicaid, capital spending and reimbursement, mental health services, rehabilitation services, national health policy reform, tax issues, labor law, and state legislative initiatives.

The Healthcare Leadership Council is the exclusive forum for the leadership of the health care industry to jointly develop policies, plans and programs to accomplish their goals. The HLC is committed to advancing a market-based health care system that values innovation and provides affordable, high-quality health care. The HLC envisions our quality-driven system as one that is built upon the strengths of the private sector -- innovation, competition, cost-effectiveness and freedom from excessive government regulations.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is an independent philanthropy focusing on the major health care issues facing the nation. The Foundation is an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public.

The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) has a membership of nearly 85 employer-led coalitions across the United States, representing over 11,000 employers and approximately 21 million employees and their dependents. NBCH member coalitions are committed to Community Health Reform, including an improvement in the value of health care provided through employer-sponsored health plans and to the entire community.

The National PACE Association (NPA) is a nonprofit membership organization representing the interests of almost 60 organizational members. These organizations share the goal of promoting the availability of quality, comprehensive, and cost-effective health care services to frail older adults through the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and similar models of care.

The National Partnership for Women and Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that uses public education and advocacy to promote fairness in the workplace, quality health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family.

The National Rural Health Association is a national membership organization whose mission is to improve the health and health care of rural Americans and to provide leadership on rural issues through advocacy, communications, education and research.
